I hope that our website will provide you with practical information about Hungary, the Hungarian-Chinese relations with regards of any scope like governmental, economic, touristic, cultural or consular affairs.
In recent years relations between Hungary and China has been developing with utmost dynamism resulting in the highest level and quality in history. Besides the deepened bilateral relations Hungary became a front-runner and essential player in China’s cooperation with the Central and Eastern European region and Europe as a whole. I can proudly consider myself and my colleagues at the Embassy important contributors to this achievement. It is my pleasure to support the progress of the Hungarian-Chinese relations as ambassador at such a prominent period.
In line with Hungary’s strengthening position the attention towards Hungary and the Hungarian-Chinese relations is growing as well. Hence our website has become vital in providing sufficient information.

Dear Applicants,
We wish to inform you, that the Consular Section of the Embassy of Hungary in Beijing – except for cases of urgent emergency involving a Hungarian citizen - will be closed during the National Day of Hungary on the 15th of March, 2024. The Consular Section will resume work on the 18th of March, 2024 with normal opening hours.
Dear Clients,
The receipt of residence permit applications is resuming at the Consular Section of the Embassy of Hungary. Appointments can be booked by sending an request to visa.pek@mfa.gov.hu.
Please prepare your applications upon the renewed information on the website of the National Directorate General for Aliens. Please make sure to prepare the new residence permit application form, also available at the website of the National Directorate General for Aliens: http://www.bmbah.hu/index.php?lang=en.
The offices VFS Global will also be open soon, please follow the website of the external service provider at https://www.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/hungary/china/english/.
We are pleased to announce that the Budapest Festival Orchestra will be able to travel to China again in November 2023, after the canceled Chinese tours due to the COVID period, to play 5 concerts in 4 different cities in 7 days.
The conductor of the concerts will be Iván Fischer, recognized as the 6th best conductor in the world, and pianist Anna Vinnitskaya will perform with the orchestra as a soloist.
The band is celebrating its 40th anniversary this December, so this current Chinese tour will be a little festive.
